About Us

Learn more about your favourite community run pool.

Our history

Koondrook Swimming Pool has been serving the border towns of Koondrook and Barham for many decades. Long before backyard pools were common, this and the nearby Murray River have been where local families learn to swim, kids cool off after school, and the community gathers each season. Whether you've swum here your entire life, or you're just passing through on a Murray River holiday, you'll find the same warm welcome.

Currently the pool is managed by the Koondrook Swimming Pool Committee Inc, a sub-committee of the Willow Park Recreation Reserve. The committee is made up almost entirely of local volunteers who oversee everything from opening the pool each season to day-to-day operations. We're sustained through grants, fundraising and local council support, and we're grateful to the local businesses and individuals whose support keeps us running season after season.

Our volunteers

Without our volunteers, the pool simply couldn't operate. From kiosk helpers to committee members, almost every hour the pool is open is made possible by people giving their time for their community. We're always glad to hear from anyone interested in:

Joining the committee

Lifeguarding (paid position)

Helping out at the kiosk
